Everyone knows the story of Billy the Kid. Ruthless outlaw who died in 1881 at the age of 21, shot in the back by Sharrif Garret in New Mexico…or maybe he didn’t die?! There’s another story that not many know. A story that has been kept quite close by the ones who do know. If this story is true it says that The Kid faked his death to outsmart the posey. He heads a bit west where he finds an Englishman, wielding a couple of blades, caught in a tight spot in a saloon. Even though The Kid, who has since reverted back to his birth name of Henry McCarty, is trying to lay low, he gets this guy out of a jam which spawns a friendship like he has never had before. The 2 rode together for many years, raising hell in saloons and giving out pokes in brothels along the way. They managed to stay out of the eyes of the lawmen, and a step ahead of Father Time for many years until they both died of old age in Hico, Tx, the first only a few months before the other.
Like the story of Billy the Kid, this bumper is mounted to the the back of the Jeep to keep an eye on The Ripper, or any other front bumper you choose to use. The Kid has 2 foot holes built right into the bumper to allow easier access to whatever you might have strapped to the top of the Jeep, and is designed for easy tire rack integration. This beautiful bumper is fabricated of 1/8” steel and carefully welded at every seam, some of which have been left on to show just how well this product has been built. When purchased, The Kid will come stock with 1” D-rings, cutouts and brackets for LEDs, foot hole cutouts, a hidden cutout for tire rack integration, and a double layer of powder coat to improve its durability.
